Major star officially confirms AEW return after over 24 months

A popular AEW star confirmed his return alongside his tag team partner after over two years. The duo teased their return through a social media post recently as well.

The major star, The Butcher (aka Andy Williams) confirmed his anticipated return to All Elite Wrestling alongside his tag team partner, The Blade. The duo has been with Tony Khan’s promotion since 2019, but they have been absent from TV since January 2024. The tag team last wrestled on an episode of Rampage over two years ago, where they teamed with Kip Sabian for a trios match.

The Blade recently teased the tag team’s return after a lengthy absence through an Instagram post. Meanwhile, The Butcher took to the X social media platform to seemingly confirm the return of the Butcher and Blade tag team to Tony Khan’s promotion with the following statement, while also tagging the promotion in the caption:

“Butcher and Blade are back b*tch. @AEW, The Butcher wrote.

Interestingly, The Butcher and The Blade competed in their last match together on Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor in January 2024. Both competed in some matches as singles competitors on the indies last year.

Popular star thanked AEW a few months back for taking care of him

The AEW star, The Blade had to undergo surgery in 2024, and he revealed how All Elite Wrestling took care of it. Speaking with Talk’N Shop in September 2025, The Blade also disclosed that Tony Khan’s promotion took care of him for over a year before getting cleared:

“I had a back fusion, spinal fusion, on September 10th of 2024. It’s been about a year now, and I’m getting close to going back to doctors, getting cleared. AEW took care of my surgery, they took care of my physical therapy. They’ve been taking care of me for like over a year now. I’m really, really grateful for that job,” The Blade revealed.

Only time will tell when The Butcher and The Blade will be back in an All Elite Wrestling ring.
