NFL fans react as Puka Nacua gets spotted out of rehab as Rams WR attempts to “improve overall behavior”

Puka Nacua has taken a step toward addressing his off-field situation, with his attorney Levi McCathern confirming that the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver has entered rehab this week.

Although he is expected to stay for some time, Nacua was spotted briefly stepping away from the facility on Friday, using the break to get in a workout and have a casual meal.

Recent photos published by The California Post captured Nacua working out with a friend in Los Angeles before stopping at In-N-Out for a meal and later returning to his treatment facility.

Once the images circulated on social media, they sparked immediate reactions from NFL fans on X.

“Bro got the hangover meal in rehab. Not a great sign,” one fan said.

“Who tf is spying on him,” another fan said.

“Yeah the NFL draft can’t come any quicker,” one fan said.

Here are some more reactions from fans.

“You know rehab is serious when you can go In-N-Out,” one fan said.

“Rehab looks fun,” another fan said.

“The crack is real,” one fan said.

McCathern confirmed that Nacua is in rehab to address behavioral issues across all areas of his life. McCathern clarified that while a March civil lawsuit accusing Nacua of biting a woman and making an antisemitic statement contributed to public attention, it did not directly cause his entry into treatment.

“He was in there a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer,” McCathern said.

Although the Rams have not officially addressed Nacua’s rehab stint, head coach Sean McVay has offered his support for the young receiver.

When will Puka Nacua officially check out of rehab?

The timing of Puka Nacua’s rehab could complicate his upcoming contract talks with the Los Angeles Rams.

After leading the NFL with 129 receptions in 2025, the 24-year-old receiver is eligible for a major extension this offseason. Before his legal issues surfaced, Nacua was widely expected to set a new benchmark for wide receiver contracts, potentially eclipsing the four-year, $42.15 million-per-year deal recently signed by Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Despite his time in rehab, Puka Nacua won’t miss offseason activities, as confirmed by his attorney, Levi McCathern. Speaking to the NFL Network on Wednesday, McCathern said Nacua is focused on personal growth and will be ready for OTAs.

“He is committed to using this time constructively so that he can return in the best possible position, both personally and professionally,” McCathern said. “He will complete the program in plenty of time to be involved in all of the Rams’ OTAs.”

Despite recent off-field issues, Puka Nacua’s value on the field is obvious. He led the NFL with 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
