Ryanair Italia roasts Lewis Hamilton for his outfit as he makes his way to the F1 paddock

Ryanair Italia trolled Lewis Hamilton on social media for the outfit the Briton wore while arriving at the Italian Grand Prix on Thursday. Hamilton turned heads with his stylish look as he arrived for media day in a special Ferrari.

Hamilton made his way to the Monza paddock on Thursday in his own Ferrari F40. The 7x world champion stepped out of the supercar and was seen wearing a stylish tailored black suit and brown overcoat, which he complemented with black shades and a black beret.

Airline company Ryanair’s Italian X account took the opportunity to roast Lewis Hamilton for his flamboyant look, noting that it was close to 40° Celsius in Monza when the Scuderia Ferrari driver arrived wearing three layers of clothing.

“It’s 40 degrees in Monza, and he shows up in a coat.”

Lewis Hamilton also shared numerous images from a photoshoot at Monza via Instagram, in which he could be seen standing with his Ferrari F40 on the famous old banked Sopraelevata corner at the circuit. The 41-year-old also shared the story of how he bought the F40, revealing that he got it at an auction and that the car only had 69 kilometres on it.

Hamilton also shared a major coincidence that he discovered after buying the car, as he told the media at Monza on Thursday:

“When they took the engine out, they found out the engine’s number is 44. It’s got stamped on the engine, ‘number 44’. I couldn’t believe it. I was like, ‘Did you know? You’ve got to be lying.’ So, it feels very much like fate.”

Hamilton also shared that it has always been one of his dreams to buy an F40. He also added that he felt that the Italian GP was the perfect opportunity to showcase the car as a celebration of Ferrari’s history at the team’s home race.

Lewis Hamilton explained that winning at the Italian GP as a Ferrari driver would be a moment of incredible joy for him if he is able to do so this weekend. The driver also pointed to the fact that he could become the first Black driver in F1 history to achieve this feat.

“If I was to win, you go into new territory, winning in Monza for the first time with Ferrari is something… I’ve witnessed Charles win, obviously, in 2019 when I was on the podium with him. But to do it whilst I’m here would be phenomenal,” said Hamilton.

“And probably the thought of, if I did do that, probably I will be the only black driver to ever do that for Ferrari in Italy, probably in history, maybe. And so just a lot of those thoughts have been through my mind,” he added.

Hamilton also reflected on Ferrari’s chances of a win at Monza, saying that the power unit upgrades the Italian team has brought are a step forward. But he added that Ferrari still needs to make up a big gap in terms of lap time to get back to the very front of the field.
