The Hallmark Channel commented, congratulating their “Hearties,” as the show’s fanbase is known. Five months later, the couple announced their pregnancy through another joint Instagram post showing them holding an ultrasound image alongside their dog wearing a “big brother” shirt.

Speaking to PEOPLE in June 2026, the actress credited their on-set experiences with preparing them for the messiness of new parenthood, saying

“Ben has gotten covered in oil, disaster makeup, or some other messy situation just about every season of ‘When Calls the Heart”, which has probably been the best prep of all.”

Erin Krakow also added that it was “really true that you can never have too many burp cloths.” The couple has not publicly shared their daughter’s name at the time of press.
