A major WWE match is expected to be added to the card for WrestleMania 42. The Show of Shows is expected to air live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to a new report from BodySlam+, WWE is expected to add a major grudge match to WrestleMania 42. IYO SKY and Asuka have been involved in a bitter rivalry on RAW. The Genius of the Sky challenged Asuka to a match at WrestleMania this past Monday night on the red brand, but the match was not made official.

The card for WrestleMania 42 was revealed earlier today, and Asuka versus IYO SKY was not announced. However, BodySlam’s report noted that the match is still tentatively planned for The Show of Shows despite not being a part of today’s announcements.

IYO SKY and Asuka used to be in the Damage CTRL faction together alongside Bayley and former WWE star Dakota Kai. Asuka and Kairi Sane are a tag team known as The Kabuki Warriors and were the Women’s Tag Team Champions earlier this year.

The duo lost the titles to Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY on the January 5 episode of RAW. Ripley and SKY have since lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships to The Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend and Nia Jax). Jax and Legend will be putting the titles on the line against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, The Bella Twins, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair at the biggest show of the year.

Asuka vows to take everything away from IYO SKY at WWE WrestleMania

Asuka vowed to take everything from IYO SKY at WrestleMania 42 during last night’s episode of WWE RAW.

In a pre-recorded video shown during last night’s RAW, The Empress of Tomorrow claimed that Sky had taken advantage of her kindness and that she must now face the consequences.

“I sacrificed everything to give you all the best opportunities. I never expected you to thank me. I did everything for you out of love. Now I realize I loved you too much, because you took advantage of my kindness. You used me. Now you must pay. I will always be your senpai, IYO. And as your senpai, I will teach you one final lesson in the ring. IYO, I will take everything away from you,” she said.

IYO SKY has officially called out Asuka for a match at WrestleMania.

It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for the rivalry between SKY and Asuka on the road to WrestleMania.
